We can't forget the moment Ahmed Musa scored a brace in Nigeria’s World Cup match against Iceland. In addition to earning him the moniker 'Boom Boom Musa', his superb performance got a lot of notable clubs interested in the 25-year-old.
Saudi Professional League (SPL) club, Al-Nassr FC succeeded in signing him from Leicester City for a reported fee of £14.5 million and so far, their investment is paying off.
Musa sealed his debut for Al-Nassr with a goal in the Arab Club Champions Cup, informing his fans they have no cause to worry. Yesterday, he followed that solid debut with a hattrick against Al Quadisiya in SPL – making him the league’s current top goal scorer this season.
It’s been barely three months into the 2018-19 season and Musa is already scoring left and right. While his stay at the Premier League was nothing to write home about, it seems he has found his place in SPL, and we are excited for him.
We must admit that nothing boosts a player’s morale more than a good start. And just as Mohamed Salah did in the last season of the Premier League, Musa’s good start could have him blazing trails throughout this season, thereby making him one of the biggest players SPL has ever seen.
And while that is happening, we’ll be here to hail him “Boom Boom Musa”!
