Ever since the release of The Wedding Party, Adesua Etomi has become a bonafide movie star. So, it shouldn't come as too much of a shock to many people that she's now been featured on the cover of next month's American Vogue, alongside 13 other actresses from all over the world.
Adesua has starred in four of the highest grossing films in Nollywood — King Of Boys, The Wedding Party 1 & 2 and 10 Days in Sun City. In addition to this, she leads a bunch of the Nollywood films currently on the streaming giant, Netflix, including Falling and The Arbitration.
Given this, it's no wonder that she was chosen to represent the country in the most prestigious fashion magazine we have today. She's celebrated alongside a bunch of renowned actresses, including Avengers star, Scarlett Johansson, who was the highest paid actress in the world last year.
Speaking about Nollywood to Vogue, Etomi-Wellington said:
"I love, love, love Nollywood, I feel like she’s my baby, and it’s my responsibility, along with a lot of other performers, to grow her."
Well, her contribution to the scene has definitely made a difference, and we're immensely proud of her.
