It seems it's true that you should only be in competition with your own self, as everyone's fave rom-com, The Wedding Party 2 just beat it's original as the highest grossing Nollywood film ever!
Last year, The Wedding Party broke a record by making N9.6 million on the opening day and over N468.5 million in sales until date. This year, they broke their own record by making over a 100% increase in revenue on the first day of opening in cinemas, and now it's the highest grossing Nollywood film of all time just a month after its release!
Speaking about the success of the film, CEO EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu said:

The sequel focuses on the Dozie's (played by Banky W) brother, Nonso (played by Enyinna Nwigwe), who has continued his romance with Deirdre (played by Daniella Down), the bridesmaid from London.
After a disastrous engagement ceremony in Lagos, his Igbo family and her 'upper-class' British family reluctantly agree to a wedding in Dubai, setting off another memorable series of events, just like the first one.
