Wande Coal and Leriq have great synergy as we have seen in the past on tracks like "Wishlist" and "Amorawa" ft Burna Boy. The pair clearly have a knack for making chilled slow-tempo songs, and they have brought this energy into the new year with their new song, "Will You Be Mine".
With Valentine's Day poking its head round the corner, most of the newly released songs have been love songs. Wande Coal gave us probably one of the most romantic songs we've ever had out of Nigeria in "Ololufe", so he is no stranger on this turf. What he's done in 2018 however is introduce a new genre, Yoruba trap, and we're all the way here for it!
"Will You Be Mine" doesn't do much for showing off Wande Coal's vocal ability however the catchy beat, which you will be forced to break out into a milly rock to is the best part of the song. We are a bit thrown off guard by his Yoruba adlibs, but are laden with excitement at this new prospect. This was a very daring experiment from Wande Coal, and his ability to pull it off is telling of his artistic talent which should never be slept on.
While on first listen, the track will throw you off, you'll find yourself bopping to it in no time. Listen to "Will You Be Mine" here:
