Rockstar Games sure likes to play with our feelings. First announcing a new instalment in the Red Dead Redemption series for the end of 2017, the company pushed back the release date to spring 2018, then the end of 2018.
Now, it seems that the highly anticipated game is set to land this October. With a few weeks to go until international games conference E3 (an event the publisher is unlikely to attend), a new trailer for the game has finally dropped.
As a reminder, this will be a prequel game taking place a few years before the events of the first instalment. In it, we'll be playing Arthur Morgan, a member of the gang led by Dutch Van der Linde. According to Rockstar, the game will follow:
"the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive."
Rockstar's pre-order site has already revealed the box art for Red Dead Redemption's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions set to drop on October 26. No PC version has been announced for the moment.
