Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of Patoranking's acclaimed debut album, God Over Everything – the 16-track project that blessed us with gems like "No Kissing Baby" featuring Sarkodie and "Daniella Whine".
To celebrate this milestone, Patoranking promised to release two new music videos off the album; and he came through with videos for two really strong tracks, "This Kind Love" featuring Wizkid and "Mama Aboyo" featuring Olamide.
While Patoranking and Wizkid are both noticeably absent from the video for "This Kind Love" (they are played by two unknown kids), it's still the strongest of the two. Directed by Clarence Peters, the video addresses domestic violence, showing both men and women as potential victims.
The video for "Mama Aboyo" is the perfect counterbalance to "This Kind Love": Instead of the dark subject matter, we get a high-energy dance party; instead of the moody cinematography, the video is soaked in bright reds; plus Olamide and Patoranking actually show up in this one.
