With the new TV season upon us, Netflix is starting to share its upcoming projects including the fourth season of Black Mirror, a first teaser for which has just dropped. And because Charlie Brooker doesn't like to follow the crowd, the short extracts don't contain a single word but they do reveal the six new episode titles set to make up the new installment.
First up is "Crocodile" directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) and set to play out over a mountain-filled background with Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower and Kiran Sonia Sawar.
Next up is the highly anticipated chapter directed by Jodie Foster entitled "Arkangel." Set to star Rosemarie Dewitt, Brenna Harding and Owen Teague, the episode seems to center around a young girl and her mother.
Tim Van Patten (Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones) will be in charge of directing the episode "Hang the DJ," with Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole and George Blagden.
The following episode "USS Callister," set to feature a Star Trek-esque team, is potentially the most surprising of the bunch. Directed by Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad), the episode was co-written by Brooker and William Bridges and will feature Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson and Michaela Coel.
After that is black and white robot story "Metalhead," directed by David Slade (Hannibal, American Gods) and starring Maxine Peake, Jake Davies and Clint Dyer.
Finally, the last episode entitled "Black Museum" will be directed by Colm McCarthy and seems to deal with race and technology. It'll feature Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun.
Jodie Foster is officially the first female director to take on the series. Here's hoping many others will follow her lead. Sadly, Netflix hasn't released an official release date at this point.
