Through the YBNL label, Olamide has nurtured a few talented musicians. This year, he added a few new names to the roster, adopting a reliable method of showcasing their musical adeptness: A collaborative project titled Mafia Family, which just got a December 7 release date.
Co-produced by Young Jonn and Pheelz, Mafia Family will see a multitude of YBNL up-and-comers taking the reigns on this project. The family members include Temmi Ovwasa, Davolee, Lyta, Yomi Blaze, Limerick, Picazo and Fireboy, led by the musical boss, Olamide.
Considering the project was only announced a month ago, the hasty release is a little surprising. The project's speedy completion certainly warrants a little skepticism, however, we are hopeful that Olamide and his seasoned producers are able to bring the best out of this group.
Olamide has been an instrumental catalyst in the growth of indigenous hip-hop, acting as both an inspiration and a mentor. With the success of Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold to his credit, we are confident a new YBNL star will soon emerge, and our money is on Temmi Ovwasa.
