Held in Austin Texas, USA, the South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) is an annual coming together of the global music industry, with the aim of spotlighting the varying musical subcultures around the world, as well as the artists that helm them.
This year, the festival will be taking place from March 11-17, and it will count almost 1,000 acts from over 60 different countries, including Colombia, South Korea and, of course, Nigeria.
With a focus on networking and the discovery of newer and/or more globally obscure acts, the SXSW festival is not littered with big names in the global music industry, but more of a careful consideration of the genuine talents that lead the different musical arms across the world.
As such, the rather extensive list of Nigerian acts going over to Texas in March broadcasts the cream of the crop, including the skillful rapper, Vector; the multi-talented Falz; and the vocal dream-team of Simi and Adekunle Gold.
After three rounds of Showcasing Artists announcements, only 12 Nigerian acts have been revealed. Hopefully, the list will expand as they announce more artists, but here is the line up, so far, of Nigerian acts that will showcase at this year's SXSW music festival:
