Last year, Duncan Mighty was easily one of the most essential Nigerian artists in the game, making a lot of good songs even better — from Starboy's "Fake Love" to Tiwa Savage's "Lova Lova". He continues that trend with Iyanya’s latest single, "Halle".
On the fantastic track, which has the potential to be 2019’s definitive hustler anthem, both stars sing about how satisfying it is to work hard for your money. "Who no dey work no go see chop oh", Iyanya warns on his opening verse.
These days, Iyanya tends to be pretty hit or miss with his releases, but the Yung Alpha-produced "Halle" certainly falls squarely in the former category, thanks in no small part to his undeniable synergy with Duncan Mighty.
Serving as the singer's first official single of the year, as well as a taste of what we can expect from his upcoming EP, Rebirth, the fantastic "Halle" has us more than a little hopeful that 2019 could be the year Iyanya finally gets his groove back.
