Davido's 'Fall' Becomes First Nigerian Music Video To Reach 100 Million Views On YouTube

Two weeks ago, we reported that Davido's "Fall" is now the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube, as it was sitting at over 98 million views. Well, he's smashed another record, as "Fall" is now the first-ever Nigerian music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube.

Davido promised his fans that 2017 will see him go "back to basics" – meaning that he'd be making music primarily for the local market, instead of the international one. Ironically, his international career has seen a massive boom since then, with "Fall" becoming his biggest crossover hit.

That explains why just a few days after the afropop gem made its belated debut on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Songs Airplay Chart, the song's Daps-directed video has made history as well — doing so by gaining a whopping two million views in just two weeks.

Well, considering how hard Davido has been working this past year, we couldn't think of a more deserving artist to break this record. And from the look of things, the next music video that will reach this milestone is Yemi Alade's "Johnny", which currently has over 98 million views.
