2018 has been a defining year in the Nigerian music industry. Not only did we get a plethora of jams from the usuals suspects —Davido, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Olamide — the year also provided a serious leg up for some of the most exciting young talents working today.
Burna Boy started out the year with his magnum opus, Outside, which set the bar really high. Following this, we heard a lot more from Wizkid than we did in 2017, as he featured on several jams worthy of 'song of the year' status, like "Kana", "Fake Love" and, of course, "Soco".
In 2018, we also fell extra hard for a few gifted up-and-comers, such as Teni The Entertainer, who she gave us "Askamaya"; Santi, who dropped "Freaky" and "Rapid Fire"; and Odunsi The Engine, who released one of the strongest-ever debut albums by a Nigerian artist.
So, as 2018 is coming to an end, we decided to put it to you guys to help us decide which of the many 2018 bangers actually reigns supreme. From Tiwa Savage's Duncan Mighty-assisted "Lova Lova" to Starboy's party-starter, "Soco", which of these 2018 songs has been your favourite?
