Adekunle Gold & Flavour Team Up For Fantastic Feel-Good Song, 'Yo Yo'

It’s been a few months since Adekunle Gold released his sophomore album, About 30, and it still remains one of 2018's strongest projects. Now, after a frustrating dry spell, he's finally back with a vibrant video for one of the LP's standouts: "Yo Yo" featuring Flavour.

Adekunle Gold is one of the few good male vocalists we have in the Nigerian music scene, and he shows this off with his string of deep and affectionate love songs. On "Yo Yo", he's taken a turn, with an upbeat party song, sure to lift any listener's spirit once it's played.

The song starts off with Adekunle Gold's verse, which finds him switching between English and Yoruba, urging everyone to live life to the fullest. Flavour then joins him to reiterate the song's message, adding some Igbo highlife to it, making the song pop even more.

The vibrant video, which was directed by Aje Filmworks, sees both stars at a bar, partying and basically living their best lives. The clip particularly fitting, as it's shot in the exact type of setting you'd expect the highlife banger to be played at in the first place.
