Nigeria-born actress and an afro-electro-rock musician, Folake Olowofoyeku (who goes by her stage name, The.Folake!) seems ready to speed up her quietly growing success in Hollywood – and we can't wait.
Folake got started playing roles short films and eventually graduated to brief stints on TV shows – ranging from heavy dramas like Westworld and How to Get Away With Murder to Emmy-winning comedies like Modern Family and 30 Rock.
She now has an even more impressive slate of movies to look forward to next year: from Empire director, Mario Van Peebles' comedy-drama, If, to the unexpected but duly anticipated sequel to a Hollywood classic, Death Race 2050.
Death Race 2050 – The Sequel Of A Cult Classic
Folake will be playing the role of Minerva – and contributing music to two soundtracks – in Universal Studios‘ upcoming sequel to the 1975 cult classic, Death Race 2000.
Death Race 2050 is set in America in the not-too-distant future, where an all-powerful corporate government keeps the masses placated with violent virtual-reality entertainment.
The event of the year is the Death Race, where a bunch of drivers compete in a cross-country road race, scoring points for running down pedestrians and killing each other.
Death Race 2050 will be released on BluRay on January 17, 2017.
