British-Nigerian actor, John Boyega, is one of Hollywood's biggest, brightest and most bankable new stars. So, it should come as no surprise that he made Forbes' list of the top-grossing actors of 2017 — joining the likes of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Dwayne Johnson (The Fate of the Furious).
Boyega came in at number 10 on the list, thanks to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which has already racked up nearly $800 million globally since its release. His work in smaller movies like Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit and Dave Eggers' The Circle brought his total up to $815 million.
Boyega shares this honour with his Star Wars co-star, Daisy Ridley — who came in at number six on the list — as well as a number of Marvel superheroes, including Spider-man Homecoming's Tom Holland, Guardians of the Galaxy 2's Chris Pratt and Thor Ragnarok's Chris Hemsworth.
This is the first time the 25-year-old actor is joining the list in his young career. We also expect to see him make the list again next year, as he helms the highly-anticipated sequel to Pacific Rim — which was a critical and box office success when it was released in 2013.
