For the past couple of months, we've been pretty hyped about Chiwetel Ejiofor's directorial debut, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind. Now, the very first trailer for the Oscar-nominated actor's first stint behind the camera is here, and it looks absolutely amazing.
The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind is a semi-autobiographical story about a thirteen-year-old Malawian boy, William Kamkwamba (Maxwell Simba), who, with the help of his father (Ejiofor), invents an unconventional way to save his family and village from famine.
Over the weekend, the highly-anticipated drama premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to overwhelmingly positive reviews, and it is currently sitting pretty at 83% on review aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes.
According to Jason Bailey, a film critic from The Playlist:
"The feature writing and directing debut of Chiwetel Ejiofor, feels like a similar extension of his onscreen persona: open-hearted, quietly intelligent, endlessly humanist."
The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind will hit Netflix on March 1.
