Following a rather timid teaser, 20th Century Fox has just revealed the first full-length trailer for the long-awaited Predator remake. As we expected — or hoped —, the film directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) will be as bloody, savage and violent as the original.
The plot is pretty classic, as we'll follow a group of GIs recruited to hunt down the creatures emerging from a spaceship which has crashed on Earth. Behind the advertised bloodbath lies the movie's main new feature: the appearance of a superior or "ultimate" species which isn't joking around and seems ready even to attack the more traditional Predator.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Boyd Holbrook (the bad guy in Logan), Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane (the former Punisher on the big screen), Alfie Allen (Theon in Game of Thrones), Keegan-Michael Key (from the Key & Peele duo) and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us). A great gang of celebrities who we can't wait to see attacked, not to mention massacred.
Because that's what Predator is all about: the characters are slaughtered one after another. Let's hope that doesn't change, now that Hollywood seems more reluctant to kill off its characters. All our questions will be answered on October 17.
