Black Panther's Shuri Is Getting Her Own Comic Series Written By Nnedi Okorafor

After the release of Black Panther earlier in the year, T'Challa's gadget-loving sister, Shuri (played by the charismatic Letitia Wright) very quickly became a fan favourite. So it makes sense that Marvel is giving the fans even more of her.

It's just been announced that Shuri will be getting her very own spin-off comic series. The series will focus on the brilliant mind behind all the tech in Wakanda, as she struggles to take the reigns of her kingdom after her brother goes missing in space.

The official synopsis provided to Bustle says:

"SHURI will bring a domestic conflict to the princess's table — while she is the most at home in her lab, working to keep her country at the forefront of science and technology, Wakanda is missing its leader.

Without T'Challa around, Shuri will have to decide if she will forego her own passions in order to stand up for her nation."

The comic series will be written by Nigerian-American author, Nnedi Okorafor, who previously wrote the digital comic series, Black Panther: Long Live The Kingas well as the Wakanda Forever series. Nnedi made the announcement on her Instagram page yesterday.

The comic is set to debut this October
