Queen Elizabeth II Honours Anthony Joshua With An Order Of The British Empire Award

Five years ago, Anthony Joshua was awarded a Member of the Most Excellent Order of British Empire (MBE) for winning the super-heavyweight gold at London 2012 Olympics. With the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO belts to his name, Anthony Joshua can now add and another prestigious award as Queen Elizabeth II has awarded him an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).

According to the list published on the UK government’s official website, Joshua was recognized for his "services to sport". He was one of over 1000 people who received an award at the Queen’s birthday party last Friday.

With Joshua looking forward to a unification fight with American, Deontay Wilder, this award might just be all the motivation he needs to beat Wilder who is standing between him and his dream of becoming the undisputed heavyweight world champion.

If that happens, Joshua will become the second boxer in history to hold the title after Lennox Lewis, who defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999.

I write. I have fun. :D
