Three weeks ago, Marvel announced that the ladies of the Dora Milaje will get their own arc in a three-part comic series, Wakanda Forever, which will be written by Black Panther: Long Live the King author, Nnedi Okorafor, and Alberto Jimenez Alburquerque, with the cover art from Terry Dodson.
In the first part of the comic series, Wakanda Forever: The Amazing Spider-Man, the Dora Milaje, led by General Okoye went to New York City in a mission to protect Wakanda, and they meet up with Peter Parker’s Spider-man. The comic book, which hits stands on June 27th, will be followed by two other team-up issues: X-Men: Wakanda Forever in July, and Wakanda Forever: Avengers in August.
Today, we have some information about the second part of the series. X-Men: Wakanda Forever sees the ladies of the Dora Milaje meet the X-Men – including Black Panther’s one true love, Storm! But when Okoye, Ayo and Aneka come up against deadly former Dora Milaje member Nakia, their mission turns to protecting their king – no matter what the cost.
"This story is a big Marvel-style adventure with the Dora Milaje front and center. Nnedi may be relatively new to writing comics, but she already has the voices of all these characters down cold – from Okoye to Nightcrawler."
The Dora Milaje's epic adventures don't end there; Wakanda Forever: Avengers is the third instalment of the Wakanda Forever comic series and as soon as we have more information, we'll share it!
