ASOS Is Working On A Kenya-Inspired Collection With Actual Kenyans

International fashion brands seem to think that Africa-inspired fashion is limited to dashikis, kente print and t-shirts with afro picks printed on them. We are glad that ASOS are distancing themselves from this narrative, as they are currently working on a Made In Kenya capsule collection in collaboration with Kenyan fashion bloggers, @2ManySiblings

2 Many Siblings are a brother and sister fashion duo who have been on the scene for a while now. They are most popular for their unique sense of style, and also the fact that they make a point to take Kenyan fashion to the world.

They have had a successful run at their popular Thrift Social series and to continue on this successful streak, have just announced their collaboration with ASOS! They said on Instagram

"So excited to share a little bit of the project we are doing in collaboration with Asos. Together with Leomie Anderson and Julie Adenuga, we will each be designing a capsule collection for their Made In Kenya SS18 line. This will be launched and made available for you sometime soon!"

The sibling bloggers seem to be manufacturing the clothes with Soko Kenya, a clothing manufacturing unit in Kenya whose aim is to provide employment for the people of Kenya, with a commitment to make an environmental impact.

From the looks of it, the capsule collection will feature pieces such as print trousers, dresses and two-pieces. We're definitely looking forward to seeing how they pull this off!  Check out some of the designs here:
