Gorillaz are back already. Just one year after the release of their last album Humanz, the British group's new album The Now Now will be available from June 29. Several weeks after announcing the exact release date for the project, and after treating us to three teasers, Gorillaz revealed The Now Now in the best possible way: with a live performance.
During a trip to Japan for a concert, the animated musicians performed a second live set in Tokyo, which was live-streamed on YouTube by Boiler Room. In a live performance accompanied by animated images, the group was even joined by Jamie Principle, who features on the track "Hollywood" with Snoop Dogg, who didn't appear on stage this time.
While you wait for the studio-quality album to be released on June 29, you can start to discover the new tracks. And for anyone who's jealous of the Tokyo concert after listening to the new album, Gorillaz will be performing at Boomtown Fair in the UK on August 11, as well as in several locations in the US and Canada in October.
