Scarlett Johansson will be reunited with Rupert Sanders in the very near future. Deadline reports that the Ghost in the Shell director is now working on Rub & Tug, a movie described as being along the same lines as American Bluff, based largely on the crazy life of Jean Marie Gill — with Scarlett Johansson in the starring role.
Gill was an American woman who made a name for herself in the Pittsburgh crime world in the 1970s, when she joined the mafia and created a veritable prostitution empire with her massage parlors — among numerous other activities.
She is also known for her involvement in 'Steroidgate', linked to doping among the Pittsburgh American football team. She achieved all of this after stealing a man's identity, which helped her to integrate more easily into the mafia and the criminal underworld surrounding it. Gill died in 1987, aged 72.
The screenplay is the work of Gary Spinelli (American Made), and the movie will be co-produced by Tobey Maguire and Scarlett Johansson. Production will begin in February, with a budget of 30 million dollars. Given the main character's crazy story, the movie is definitely one to see. Watch this space.
