We all know that films and series tend to paint a rosy picture of relationships – especially ones involving teens in the first throes of friendship or love. But obviously things don't always work out quite like that in real life, which is exactly what Netflix's latest series has set out to demonstrate.
Entitled The End of the F**cking World, the new show is a "darkly comic road trip tale" following self-proclaimed psychopath James and foul-mouthed rebel Alyssa.
Adapted from Charles Forsman's graphic novel of the same name, the British show tells the story of what happens when the pair run away in search of a better life and wind up crossing a line there's no going back from.
In the leading roles are Jessica Barden (Penny Dreadful) and Alex Lawther who you may remember from that particularly scarring episode of Black Mirror season three. Following its release on Channel 4 in the UK, the series is making the international move to Netflix on January 5.
