'Mindhunter' Officially Renewed For A Season Two At Netflix

It's not a massive surprise that Mindhunter was such a success considering the public's strange fascination with serial killers (remember Dexter?).

Nevertheless, it is nice to have things all official, which is exactly what Netflix has done today with this season two revealer video, stating: "We need to talk to more subjects."

Produced and partly directed by David Fincher, whose trademark style is palpable throughout the whole first season, the series is based on the eponymous book by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker.

In the book, the original Holden Ford and Bill Tench detail the cat and mouse chase that took place between the FBI and the most famous criminals of the 1970s – a process which, of course, gave way to criminal profiling.

Filming of season two is set to begin next May with show creator Joe Penhall at the helm. Netflix has also confirmed that Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv will all be returning to their lead roles alongside Cameron Britton, with his chilling portrayal of serial killer Ed Kemper.
