Okay, so it's not the biggest surprise ever but that won't stop us from celebrating the fact that Netflix's first German-language creation Dark has officially been ordered for a second season.
Picking up interest way beyond the borders of its homeland, the show has been intriguing viewers from all over the globe since its release at the beginning of December. And given it makes more financial sense for the platform to roll out two seasons of any series, all the more reason to give us more mind-bending fun.
Created by screenwriters Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the first season of the show touched on the supernatural, taking us far into the depths of the human soul, through time and down a shadowy cave. Set in the German town of Winden, the chapter was based on the disappearance of two children and the events that followed.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the writers spoke out about their ideas for future episodes which include plans to highlight some of the characters that haven't been explored much up to this point. And it looks like they're not afraid to get rid of a few favorites either...
If you haven't been following the hype, Dark season one is available right now on Netflix.
