With Marvel's Black Panther now available on Blu-Ray and for digital download, there is a newfound buzz surrounding the beloved film — not that it ever really died down. Which explains why Honest Trailers just reviewed the film in their usual comic fashion.
Always on point, this episode of the Emmy-nominated YouTube show doesn't shy away from poking fun at Black Panther, however, given that the film is so good — it's currently the most acclaimed superhero movie of all time — the jabs aren't as harsh as they usually are.
While they highlight just how important Black Panther is to the culture as the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a predominantly black cast, they are also quick to point out that it's far from a perfect film.
The review mentions things about the film that viewers would have been too awestruck to pick up on, such as the horrible CGI rhinos and the underdeveloped love stories. They also praise some of the best parts of the film, such as the girl power element and the great villains.
As usual, Honest Trailers is a good laugh and pinpoints some gimmicks that only the most attentive people would have noticed!
