Not only The Simpsons is the longest-running American animated program, Matt Groening and his team are now heading to the Oscars with a short animated film centered on Maggie. The Longest Daycare is up for Best animated short.
The short movie recounts a not-so-terrific day at the daycare where Maggie, the main character, is being bullied by a not-so-pleasant-monobrow baby. For the franchise’s first short movie (in 3D please), The Longest Daycare focus on one character and one place only, though Maggie’s day at the daycare is pretty eventful. Directed by David Silverman, who also directed The Simpsons‘ one and only full-length movie, the short movie goes on and off on the Web; it is being uploaded then deleted then re-uploaded; now we hope the official version will be uploaded soon.
The Longest Daycare is up for Best Animated Short category where the other nominees includes: Minkyu Lee’s “Adam and Dog“, PES’ “Fresh Guacamole“, Timothy Reckart and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly’s “Head over Heels” and beautiful Disney Studio’s“Paperman” (John Kahrs), which we wrote about few weeks ago.
