Hilarious and ridiculously popular American sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ looks set to gain its 9th season.
CBS and 20th Century Fox are currently locked in talks to see the show return for an 8th and (possibly) final time. The latest series released saw a spike in viewing figures and seems more popular than it has been in ages, probably thanks to the big roles gained by the shows cast members recently. Jason Segel seems to be present in EVERY comedy going right now, Cobie Smulders is now an Avenger and even Josh Radnor who plays Ted Mosby seems to be busy directing, producing and doing everything else in films lately.
Two scripts had initially been written that would wrap up the show at the end of series 8 and, if necessary, another that would allow them to extend the storyline to finish in the 9th season. The question is, when will we see how Ted meets the mother of his soulmate? ”We have it worked out, we kind of know what the endgame of the series is. It’s obvious this show is around one central question, so that meeting will be part of the endgame of the show. How much the show will go beyond that, we can’t really say one way or the other.” says creator Carter Bays.
Another series would defs be good news for a show “widely regarded as the best show ever to air on international television.” according to reliable fountain of knowledge, Wikipedia. Barney Stinson and co. are back on screens in September for Season #8!
